OREGON PACIFIC MATTERS-
Col, T. E HogS Is Not Her-A Party;Tbe State Action Will Meet at
Goi to the TroU. !
A ripple of, excitement was
created in railroad circles yester
day, when it was repotted that
Col. T. E. llog. president and re
ceiver of the Oregon Pacilii: rail
road company, had arrived with a
party of New Yorkers, and that
the party had gone to the front on
a special train.
The report, however, proved to
be a mistake. Win. M. Hoag,
vice-president and general mana
ger, is here, having just returned
from a tiip to San Francisco, and
in company with several gentle
men, w ho are strangers, went to
the front yesterday morning.
One engine with a snow plow
had gone over the road to the end
of the track the day before. They
fou id about five feet of Know.
The party returned to Corvaliis
last evening, and will go to Ya
epiina t - lay.
As to Cob Hogg's visiting Al
bany, it seems from the be 4 in
formation obtainable that he will
probably be here before very ioi g,
anil there is good reason to believ;
that work on the road will go for
ward this year.
