The Coos Bay region is bound
not to be behind in the matter of
street rail wax facilitiss. A com
pany has been incorporated to
build a motor line from Marshlield
to Yarrow, while a ferry will con
ii. cl with ilasgow City and thence
on tu South Bay, a leautiful
snot on ihe coast near Cape Arago,
wheie there is a tine beach for
bathing and which is a favorite
summer resort for the people of
that section. The line, when com
pleted, will be about ten miles in
len th and will place Marshtield
and Km pi re City within ten min
utes of each other.

pose. An Enjoyable Entertainment.
The Oakes Swiss Bell Ringers
and Comedy Sketch Club, which
occupies the opera house in this
city on the evening of Sept. l'2d,
gains the following encomium from
the Lincoln, Neb., Journal: "A
very enjoyable performance was
given "by the Oakes' Swiss Bell
Ringers and Comedy Sketch Club
at the People's Theatre last ev;n
ing. The audience that greeted
the first appearance of this com
pany here was large and enthusias
tic, and for nearly three hours the
house rang with the plaudits of
the crowd. The Sketch Club came
to Lincoln unheralded with glit
tering and overdrawn press notices
but the entertainment of last eve
ning fully demonstrated the fact
that the company travels on its
merits, and the sign of approval
manifested on all aides was evi
dence enough that the performers
were artists in their line. The
bell ringing, by John and Alice
Oakes, made a decided hit, each
rendition being met with a storm
of applause. The wonderfully
sweet music brought out by them
from tumblers partly tilled with
water was duly appreciated.
Frank Hollwtt r exhibited his pow
ers as a specialty comedian in his
act "The Yankee Farmer from
Squashtown," in a manner that
fairly convulsed the audience; he
introduced old-time dances, songs
and stones of candy puuings, par
m' bees, corn huskings in irresisti
nle down east twang. Mr. Hollis
ter is an actor of experience and
unlike many comedians of the day.

ry Eades also appears in a number
of sketches in which be displays to
a remarkable degree to what uses
the facial muscles may be put.
His imitations of different charac
ters in every stage of physical de
velopment, in which the fac
largely figures, were marvelous
exhibition'. His sudden facial
changes were most humorous and
grotesque. The violin playing by
Mr. Korn and the harp solos by
Alice Oakes were very good. The
lierforinance was a good one and
proved a success.

pleaed the citizens so much on
their appearance here about a year
ago, are coming again. They will
be here on the 22tl of this month,
and will lie gieeted by a full bouse,
for they are good. On their ap
(earance at Huron. Dakota, the
Leader of that place said : "Those

Ringers and comedy Sketch Club
a little out of the common order of
traveling trouie8. They frequently
stirred the bouse in attendance,
who favorably expressed them
selves in relation to the entire ex
ercise. The solos were excellent.
The English com- dian, Harry
Fades, with his mirth-provoking
melody and his funny faces, in
terested the crowd amazingly.

cored to ttie echo. It was an ac
ceptable and interesting affair.
