Mr. Charles Kennedy, conductor
on the O. P. pas-enger, has an

made from a water agate. The
agate, an unusually large one, was
picked op on the beach near New
port, and hail been washed hither

was cut and engraved in Chicago,

from the rear of the Dickson
building at the comer of First and
E streets. He ran to the nearest
box and rang in an alarm, to
which the department iminedi

The fire boys did their best, hut in

Woodward buildings, on which no

endon building was burned oil" and
one of the rear corners was taken
away. It is owned by Judge
Caples, S. G. Bunting and the

story was occupied by Mrs. Frank
Olsea as a lodging house of un
savory reputation. Her loss is
