Didn't Work.
A certain hide dealer that visits
Kugene quite fr.-quently failed to
work a little game successfully
last week. He was shipping a lot
of loose hides, and also wanted to
ship some enclosed in a sack, but
the freight agent would not Din
them unless he oened the sack so
that he could see what was in it.
The hide dealer became enraged
and told him that it was none of
his business whether the sack con
tained deer hides. The law pre
vents the railroad carrying deer
hides, and the employes are care
ful about what they receive for
shipment. Kugene Register.
