queerest I have seen this six months
is an old lady who has laid up a
very comfortable sum f r the sup
port of ber old ge by saving every
thing She found herself twenty .
years without a penny. Happily,
wealthy relatives gave her-permis
sion to. come and occupy a rsom on
tbe top floor of their big bouse, but
this did not occur until she - bad
uassed through a verv terrible six
months in which shs had- kept off
cold and starvation With almost in

transferred to tbe lavish -luxury of
a rich man's home, she was shocked
by what seemed to ber l be most
terrible waste. Before very long
her resolution was' formed. Bu
