The rain had saturated the insulating ' coating of the wire until it was practical useless as an insulator.' Secretary Wisdom's silver bul lion bill, will soon be placed before congress. The . discretionary pro visions of- the bill are carefully drawn, and limit the powers of the secretary uiore than Yas originally proposed. He is distinctly for bidden to buy silver bullion when the value of the silver in a stand ard dollar in open market is more than one dollar. He is only per mitted to suspend purchase when lie is satisfied that an artidcial and fictitious price has been created for silver by a ring or combination. to it to this day, its chief interest at the time of christening being Leef and wool. It is re ported by the Ashland Tidings thatCarr has! turned out about 5000 head, and Dorris about 4000 "head of cattle to shift for them selves in the deep snow live on browse if they can, or die if they must.
