A FEW FACTS.
Albany is the most rapidly growing city in Oregon. Public im
yroTements valuing a quarter of a rail Hon dollars have been mad
in the city during the past summer, and plans for double that
amount are already being made for next season.) '.
Before January 1st tkenew woolen mills, employing ICO hands,
will be in full operation. The mills have already commenced run
A line of street cars has been put in operation during this season
and next summer many more lines of track will le laid, and an
lectric motor system of street railway will be established.
A big brick hotel will be built next summer at a cost of $75,000

The Oregon Pacific Railroad Company is pushing their road to
an Est rn extension, and Albany is the acknowldcfl railn ad
function of Oregon. New manufactories are constantly being add
ed to the city and a rapid growth is inevitable.

MONEY INVESTED
In real estate in Albany has made many. men rich, and it will now
if invested before the big march of improvements next season. A

.Th accompanying map shows seven different converging rail
load lines. These are all in operation except the Albany & Asto -ria
road, oti which work is in progress. The branch railroad to
Brownsville as shown on the map will no doubt be built within a
year. A company is being organized at Biownsville for this pur
pose and Albany men are interred in the enterprise.
The Albany h Astoria railrond is no longer a matter of conjec
ture. The company his $2,000,000 capital, and have expended
$15,000 in the survey of the route and the purchase of a plant,
with which 1000 men will be at work early in the spring.
The Oregon Pacific road is being pushed eastward and will tap
th great Inland Empire of Eastern Oregon within twelve onth&
