No small stir was created among I the real e.-tate men of this city yes i t.-rday when the Oregonian ap - peared, co!taining the quarter ot a page advertisement ot iha city ot Albany for which $300 was sub scribed by business men t;nd real estate dealers generally under the I condition that it was to be an adv. of the citv simply, with no real estate men's names connected with it. The adv. was attractive enough, but connected with it was an advertisement for the firm of Cur ia n & Monteith, giving them the benefit of the whole concern. Those who subscribed feel that they have not been fairly dealt with, ami will ask the Oreironian to "ive the city an advertisement of its own or will refuse to pav for it. Anvone has a rkdit. thev claim, to buy all the space he desires in the Oregonian, but that great paper should treat the advertisers fairlv, and not take $300 for an advertise ment for the city and tnen give it to somebody else.
