Rev. E. R. Prichard is in receipt

justice, that, if it could be divested

For instance a man named Dupont
is confined in the county jail under
the charge of having appropriated
a blanket, to keep his little boy
w arm. They were traveling with
a troop of acrobats, stopped in
Shedd, and when they went on
the next morning the lady of the
hou e sent on and had lhe man ar
rested tor stealing the blanket. The
man claims the blanket is his own,
and that he can prove it by his
wife, w lio is in San Francisco, and
the men who were with him, and
in order to procure the witnesses
his cr.se was continued until the
next term, aud he must lie in jail,
his boy be sent to the moiher in
San Francisco by charily, all for a
single fault it it was committed
which should have been condoned

The Albany & Astoria Railway
Company of this city has pur
chased the entire plant of Searle

will be shipped to Son Francisco

now have performed this feat and
in punishment they will be kept in
dungeons.

itself as being practically opposed
to the introduction of cattish in any
of the waters of Oregon, saying

A Kother aod Saren Children Drowsed
at Yaquina-
Advices are received of a heart
rending accident that took place on
Thursday at Yaquina Bay. A fam
ily named Parker, consisting of the
:ather, mother and seven children,
ranging in age from eight months
to 12 years, and a brother-indaw
named Wagner, all recently from
Dakota, entered a rickety boat at
Newport wharf to cross to South
Beach on the way to a ranch that
had been purchased by Parker.
The boat got into the breakers and
was capsized, and all the inmates
executing Parker.whoswam ashore, !
w ere drowned. The bodies of Mrs. ,
Parker and six of the children
have been recovered. Wagner
and the other child had not been
found at last accounts.
