The

on erroneous grounds, the IIik

from a highly reliable surce that
this deal will not prevent the Ore

its stockholders and directors some
of the wealthy financiers of New

the road eastward with more vigor

this young man from Polk county
four years ago. He was a poor
boy, the son of a widowed woman.
His father had been a Union
soldier, was tt-nibly wounded in
battle, and died, leaving this boy
to support his mother. This, with
her efforts, he did by work.ng out
on the neighbors' farms in summer
