A Bad Lot.
W. T. Ellis, the blackguard
who poses as a holiness revivalist,
and has been raising a row at
Brownsville, was in the city yes
terday with a wagon load of traps,
including a printing press,which he
said he was removing to that place.
He has put in his time while in
this city for a day or two in annoy
ing good citizens with his very
abusive tongue. He says he ex
pects to remove to Eugene or Al-
Albanysoon. He is either partial
ly crazv or a . blasphemous yillian
probably a little of both, and is not

been tiled in the past sixty days,
seven of them while the writer
was in the mountains, and new
men were met going in all along

There is a regular mining organ
ization at (uartzville, with its laws
and by-laws, and each prospector
who desires to hold a ledge files
his claim with the recorder of the
ditrict, E. R. Barker, a miner of
experience, who renders to the
seoker after gold all assistance and
information :n his power.
