John Walker, an American, was
found dead in his bedroom in a
odging house yesterday afternoon.
He has been missing since Tuesday
and the door of his room was
oroken open to-day, revealing him
dead in the bed. A hypodermic
injector lying beside him indicated
the probable cause of his death.
He wps a morphine fiend and it is
supposed an overdose was taken
which killed him. Deceased was
38 years of age.

over the shooting of two Mexican
policemen at El Paso del Norte
last ni'ht by two Americans whom
the police attempted to arrest for
boisterous conduct. The Ameri
cans escaped to this city by swim
ming the river. One of the police
men is dead and the other is badly
wounded.

tribe while Mr. Wortman was mak

date, in describing the tour, said :
