One of the novel features of the
occasion will be a naval battle on
Lake Michigan, which wiil "as
closely resemble a regular engage

On the evening following, "in
honor of the victory," there will
lie a great display of fireworks, in
whica some fifty vessels .steamers
and other craft will participate.
Milwaukee is an enterprising city,
and the f ict that $50,000 has been

is assuraace that the old soldiers
will be given a good time.

The father of a pretty young

undertook to resent his daughter's
spirited action in eloping with and
marrying the man of ber choice.by
entering their home and fatally
stabbing the bridegroom, will
probably conclude that asserting
of parental authority was deferred
to long, and the death of the hus

daughter will not conduce to his
own saft ty or happiness or to tne
reforming of society in the matter
of elopements.
