Now that Albany is the center of
extensive railroad building and
fast adding to the many enterprises
becoming the chief business city of
the Wiliamette Valley, the shrewd
man with an eye on the main
chance, will invest in real estate in
this city. Many are daily doing so,
and the land bought invariably ad-
vaHces in price and makes
for the purchaser while
asleep.
One of the most desirable loca
tions to purchase lots, which are
vet offered at very low figures, is
in Hackleman s Third Addition to
Albany, recently laid out, and in
the hands of Messrs. Curran &
Monteith for sale. These' lots lie
adjoining a very desirable portion
of the city, and new residences and
impro.-ements are daily being
made in that locality. Some of the
choicest lots in this addition are
now offered for sale at prices with
in the reach of those of limited
means. A home can be procured
here for what would be paid for
rents in a short time, while the
purchaser reaps the benefit of the
advance in the property.
Hackleman's third "addition is
located in one of the most pictur
esque portions of the city, and is
very desirable for residences. Many
Many men are investing these lots,
thereby securing the best bargains
in choice citv property ever olfered
in the Willamette Valley.
This firm also have a large list
of country and city property for
sale in quantities to" suit the pur
chaser. Thev are a live real
estate firm, and, having the
largest quantity of lands for sale,
are prepared to offer the biggest
bargains and best inducements to
those desiring to purchase any kind
of real estate.

The new steam schooner now
being built at Oneatta by Messrs.

rapidly. The gentlemen have from
fifteen to twenty carpenters em
ployed upon her, and are hurrying
her construction forward as fast as
the nature of the work will admit.
J. F. Hanrahan, an experienced
ship carpenter, is the builder, and
he is sparing no pains to make it
staunch and safe. The dimensions
of the vessel are as follows:
Length, 84 feet; breadth of beam,
