tured here Saturday, has confessed
that he has been employed by On
tario parties since January to for

gang first began shipping direct to
California, but afterwards they

Ontario. Labelle claims he was
ignorant of the fact that he was
forwarding smuggled goods and en-

were interdicted in liussia for their
pacific tendency. But General
Botilanger's history is, perhaps,
written in the school of romanco

Buried Pluuder.
A day or two ago a negro boy,
while sirolling in the swamp ad
joining the town of Chattanoche,
Ga., happened to kick away alitJe
dirt along the banks of the river,
recently covered by water and
much washed by the recent over
flow. To his surprise a shining
gold watch was revealed. He
kicked away a little more earth
and another ticker made its ap
pearance. He began to think he
had unearthed an underground,
watch factory. He continued his
digging, and the result of his find
was four gold watches, valued at
$100 each, and two silver watches
valued at $2(f each. It is supposed
that some burglar, closely pursued,
buried the watches there" and then
escaped to Florida.
