T. N. Hamilton resigned the po
sition of member of the council of
administration, ami J. P. Darrow,
of Roseburg, was elected to fill the
vacancy.
A resolution was adopted, creat
ing a committee to drait a proposed
law to be submitted to the legisla
ture, making it obligatory to ap
point old soldiers to official posi
tions, all other qualifications being
equal.
Also a resolution was adopted,
making it obligatory upon Posts of
the Grand Army to extend every
aid and assistance in their power
to the Women Relief Corps.
Also a resolution to make the
matter of making returns to the A.
A. G. more prompt and reliable.

was adopted.

made an earnest appeal to the !
members of the encampment to j
give greater assistance to the Re
lief Corps.
The retiring post commander
responded, feelingly urging upon
the posts the necessity of giving all
the assistance in their power to the
corps, stating that wherever they
were found the posts were more i
flourishing and in better condition. S

wick, made a few pertinent re- i
marks and called upon Captain
McLean, who responded in an able

was sung by all.- The Relief Corps
then retired, the Juvenile band at
the same time giving a fine selec
tion of music, at the foot of the

were arraigned in Justice Hum
phrey's court yesterday on a charge
