Will lie Decided I lias Morning. The case of the city against II. The citv was represented bv D. R. X. Blackburn and Capt. X.'B. Hum phrey appeared for the defendant. The only 'point at isue is whether or not the defendant's ignorance of t lie presence of the boys ,in the saloon constitutes a sufficient de fene. Three policemen testified that two boys, Osborn Davy and A. Boenicke entered and remain- ed for about half an hour in tl.e saloon, and the mother of the former testified that he was a min or. The defendant testitied that he was not aware of the presence of the boys, and had strictly en forced the rule to allow no minors in the saloon, which was corrohor a ted bv other witnesses. The 1 .case was argued at length and submmitted. The court will ren der a decision in the case at 9 o'clock this morning. tirstutl Cuuoert. Prof. R. B. To prove their state ment one should call at Mr. G. A. Dyson's tinshop and see their goid just from the ledge. These parties say if one-tenth of the claims that have been discovered will pay, this camp will be the best in Ore gon. There is one ledge known as the Lucky Boy, which shows a very fine prospect. The discover ers and locators are N. B. Standish, G. A. Dyson, J. W. Moore and II. M. Williams. The ledge is about seven or ekht feet wide and shows up fine for over one thousand feet. There is a good show to work with some other claims near by. The j Eureka, Last Chance, the Monday j and several others are within less j than one mile, in fact tiiere are j claims enough tor a jNo. one camp if they, prove good when 'pros pected. Messrs. Mandish, Dyson and Moore are making prepara-; i tions to start back just as soon as j they can get to tiie top of the ! mountains with horses. They have a cabin and plenty of tools, and have a trail cut into the mines. They have run a tunnel in ninety ; two feet and think they will not j have to tunnel much farther. ! They find the ledge straightening i up, and when they get in they wi 1 I be between eight'.-and ninetv feet on a perpendicular line. There is some talk of building a wagon road up the Calapooia to the mines next summer. We will expect our brother towns and neighbor fanners and the communi ty in general to turn out and give a hit, which will help all and make things lively. Mr. Geo. Coshow, son of 0. P.
