Polk A Co. the directory publishers and is here to gather data for a com plete directory o f Coos connty in cluding a thorough city directry o f every town and a complete list o f farmers and tax payers through the oounty. He is socompsDied by Mr T. M . Briokman who will as sist him, R. L. Polk A Co, are too well known as compilers and pub lishers o f relisble directories to need any introduction here, and the work on which these gentlemen are engaged will be of great service to Cooa county, as it will be cir- culated all over the United States and will help to bring tbs resources of this section to the attention of the outside world, as well as being a valuable referenoe work to those in the oounty. Messrs. Wheeler and Briokman will spend several weeks in the county. 6. 1904. A Consolidation. This week ushers in a new fea ture in the newspaper bnainess in Coquille City. J. J. Stanley, hav ing concluded to follow other pur suits, has withdrawn from the field, and the Bulletin is absorbed by the H er ald . By doing so, the management of this paper feels justified in establishing the S em i - W e e k l y H erald which will be tbs name in the future. We will now greet our old patrons, as well as those of the Bulletin, twice each week as long as the patronage and business will warrant, and we feel fully assured that by the better news service rendered by a semi weekly paper that there will be no falling off in business. Washington, July 3.—The yearly statement of the amount of coins executed at the several mints dur ing tho year ended June 30, 1904. shows a total coinage of $15,903, C9B, as follows: Gold, $14,884,400; silver, $843,181; minor coins, $177, 0G8. All of silver available for the purpose having been used, no more silver dollars will be coined by the Government under existing laws. The latter came down on the Telephone, and the dogs were put on tba trail. Tbe panther was close by having evidently returned for a lunch, and be was treed in about twenty minutes.
