Pursuant to call the Republican
convention met at this city on
Thursday of laHt week and nomi
nal ed as follows:
For joint
representative the
names of R. D. Hume and J. 8.
Cokp, jr., were placed before the
convention with the result that Mr.
Coks received 87 and Mr Hume
67.
S. B. Hermann was nominated
representative by acclamation.
For county commissioner for two
years, W. F. Bowron, E. A. Andea-
son and J. J. Clikenbeard were
placed in the field and it took two
ballots to seleot Mr. Anderson;
Loyd Spiers and Fred McLean
were named for commissioner for
four years, Mr. Spiers being elected
by a ballot of 76 to 69.
Stephen Gallier was nominated
for sheriff by acclamation as was
also James Watson for county clerk.
For assessor B. C. Lehmanowsky
and E. S. Dean, both of Myrtle
Point, were named, Mr. Dean be­
ing successful by a vote of 92 to 48.
W. H. Bunch was nominated for
school superintendent by acclama­
tion, and J. B. Dully for treasurer.
For surveyor, three candidates
were named, S. B. Cathcart received
44, E. Wold 11, and C. S. McCul­
loch 87. On motion of Mr. Cath­
cart the nomination of Mr. McCul.
loab was made unanimous by ac­
clamation.
Dr. Mingus was nominated for
coroner by acclamation.
W. C. Chase was chosen chair,
man of the county central committee.

For Sheriff, Z. T. Siglin and W.
W. Gage were named, Mr. Siglin
being snccessfnl, the ballot stand­
ing 73 to 31.
For county commissioner— two
year term four names, M. Coleman
John Porter, A. D. Boone and John
Porter, were placed before the
delegation.
On first ballot no
nomination was made and tbe
name o f A. D. Boone was with
drawn.
Second ballot resulted:
