School grew by the additiou of one new name last week. This week ends the second month of the second term. Several examina tions were held last week. Others will be held this. Altogether work progresses steadily to a close. Of the three applicants for cer tificates two of our studeuts suc ceeded with good grades. One oth er will bo a candidate for state papers most likely in August. She now holds a certificate of the First Grade. Rehearsals looking to our next entertainment and to the final con test take place daily. W e hope to make these the most enjoyable af fairs ever held in connection with the Academy. The Fortnight Lecture for the first Sunday in February was called out of respect to the revivals in progresn at the M. E. church, South. The next lecture will take place at the LitMe church next Sunduy. A fter a brief survey of The Great Subjects suggested in scripture, the final theme so far as our present plans are laid will be The Great Mystery. After this, some one or a series presented in the charts will be taken up. W e have had some pictures of the school taken and they are very good.
