I ¿¿{¡¡KtUf CUJj rïifralil T U E SD A Y . JAN. 19, 1901. Hobson breaks out every little while. The latest pustule seems somewhat inflamed. Hon. Joseph Chamberlain taught a Birmingham Sunday-school for several years. That’s all the good it did him. Sibley, of Pennsylvania, is con sidered the richest man in the low er house of Congress. His fortune is estimated at $15,000,000. The Council license committee can do more to work reformation in dives by threatening to cancel licenses than a dozen moral waves, — E.x. Chas. F. Doe Passed Away. Push Club Notes A telegram was received by Su perintendent Krouenburg yester day from San Francisco conveying the intelligence of the sudden death of Chas F. Doe, owner of the prop erty formerly belonging to Doe A Co., o f which the late Capt. J. Parker was a member, including the large sawmill atPaikersburg and a large body of fine timber on Bear creek as well as some valuable ranob lands in this valley besides a number of schooners and the tug Triumph. This firm was among the pioneer lumbering in stitutions of the county and has done a great deal toward the de velopment of the whole valley. Mr. Doe’s sadden demise will be deeply regretted by many friends in this county. That one thousand dollars from the county court looks pretty good to us. Taken with the fifteen hun dred or two thousand we expect to raise from the buttons the Club will be able to hold its own with any county in the state. An acu- rate record will be kept with the new comers as the direct results of this advertising and this report will be published once a month. The first installment of jars for exhibition purposes will arrive on the Areata. One of the most remarkable fea tures of this Push Club movement is the fact that up to date no one has had a word but the best for it; 12000 people in the county, but not a kicker in the bunch, if this is not a progressive spirit I do not know where you would fiud it.
