Th« Baptist Brethren. A special husiuess meeting of the First Baptist church of Co quille City was called last Satur day, and met at the Christian ohurcb in the afternoon. The first order o f business considered wo* hearing h trial sermon by William H. Nosier, with a view to grsuting him a license to preach. Mr. Noe- ler spoke for half an hour from 2d Tim othy, 3, 16, upon which he gave a plain and acceptilile expla nation o f the scripture text. Rev. Owen responded with the charge arid plainly and forcibly outlined the position of both candidate and church. A license was granted to Mr. Nosier. Next in order came a hearing of the committee in reference to the building of a Baptist church. The committee reported progress, some money paid iu and a location con sidered. a s other locations were mentioned, the committee was in structed to examine the other lets offered for sale and report at the next meeting.
