Gilles pie, occupying a cell in our county jail under charge of the murder of old Mrs. Edson, in Curry county, recently; and the other is signed by Percy Allen, also occupying a cell held on a charge o f rape: C o q d il l b C it y , Oct. 21, 1899. That is a lie. And the Tribune states Deputy Sheriff Mil ler heard it, too. Turner was in the jail at Roseburg oDce while I was in there, and Miller was not iD there at all, and I made no confes sion outside o f what I said there. The Tribuue says I plead guilty at Justice Anderson's court. That ie uot so. I waive I my examina tion, so that is how I plead guilty.
