Sensational
Murder.
Thursday, in a vacant lot in East
Portland, under a pile ot brush,
the remain« of Clara Fitch were
found. They were not identified at
once, but were taken to tbe morgue,
where soon after they were discov­
ered to be the remains of Miss Fitch.
Dark, purplish marks were found
under her chin surrounding her
neck, and death, from a cursory ex­
amination, was pronounced to be
the result of strangulation.
Suspicion was at once directed to
