He gave out the information that he would run the cannery at Parkersburg, being in expectation o f a force of Chinamen from Astoria for that purpose. We observe some life manifested among the fishermen owing to this announcement, and we are glad that some o f our nat ural wealth iu this line is to be brought to tbe surface, and not let slip from swelling the grand total o f our resources and local pros perity. Comrade Felter deserves great praise tor his untiring efforts in promoting to so Successful and entertaining an issu^ this annual re union of the veterjriis of the late war, and words of praise come from nil sides. The “ old boys" at Ban- dou, with backing from the good citizens of the town, spared no effort to make things agreeable and to entertain the visitors. Dunham, fell from a wagon last Thursday afternoon, near this office, one hind wheel of which ran over him.
