Fire at Bandon.
About 9 o’clock Inst Saturday
night a great fire was noticed'light
ing up the heavens in the direction
o f Bandon and much c.iucero man
ifested by our citizens. No tele
phonic communication could be
called up till a late hour, when at
last word came that the Ocean
House had burned.
We are informed that the loss is
total; no insurance known. The
house was being prepared for
occupancy by Mrs. Majory, having
been scrubbed out, and a stove and
few other articles placed in the
building. The fire is believed to
have caught from a “ sagging" of
the floor wh»re the stove was in
position, cansing the pipe to dis
joint and the fire to catch the wood
work. The owner of the building
lives at Salem, or Portlaud.
