Our public school closed for the holiday vacation with appropriate and interesting exercises last Fri day afteruooD, with a large attend ance of the pupils of the three de partments aud a fe w of the patrons as an audience. Few of the parents or citizens Could atteud, owing to the already crowded aud unsafe condition of the building from Ilia consolidation of the several departments of tbe school into o d b room, but those who were fortunate enough to get iu were wbll repaid for their presence nud enjoyed tbe exercises. The school was never so prosperous and suc cessful before, nor tbe atteudance aod interest so prompt, full nnd marked as during this term.
