JACOBS OIL c o m ^ aa cä a , nty K OK and THE LAE08 EICHiHGR Prejudice is a strong harrier in the path of progress. You may argue with it, teach it, try force with it, and it will not give way. Sometimes, as in the poem, you may walk straight through it aud Cud nothing there. You can do Jittle with it, when it exists in other people’s minds, but if it lurks in your own, you raiv, if you try, clear it away. To be earnest searchers after truth and willing to follow it wherever it leads, one must clear his mmd of antagonistic feel ings toward any uninyestigated subject. Be willing to give every enuse a fair hearing— there is time enough to reject after investigation. Sometimes one’s experiences nre unfortunate iu some one line, mid a deep prejudice against everything like it is established. But one may lose some o f the best things of lite by adhering to prematurely formed prejudices. I f you have been taken in on a deal, do not resolve never to buy anything again; if you have joined one co-operative society that failed, do not make up your mind that co-opeiation is impossible. If you have been fooled by some half-formed, irre sponsible scheme of a circulating medium on paper, do not determine that equitable exchange is a fake. The true Labor Exchange princi ple invites close investigation -the closer the better. The better it is understood, the better it is liked.— Labor Exchange Guide. days iu this neighborhood last week.
