There are now 182 pupils en rolled iu the three departments of tho public school, with 119 more to be provided for. Prof. Nosler’s room has 68 in it, when there should not he more than 50. Now, fo llo w - c it iz e n s , what are you going to do about it? The best and most experienced teachers in the state could not do justice to these num bers in such crowded quarters. Arbor day—next Friday--whieh we had feared could not bo in any way appropriately observed this time, is being provided for. Our teachers are having a nice program prepared, of songs, recitations and select readings, which will be given, nnd an outing to the pupils at which there will be gathering, naming and analyses of wild flow ers, shrubs, etc. The details are not yet nil arranged, but we liavo been furnished with this general statement, and sufficient to assure us that tho day will bo entertain ingly and profitably spent.
