The steamer Bandorille reached our wharf from Portland last Thursday morning. She dis charged considerable freight here, took on some and then dropped to the lower river for further cargo. He bad replied to many objections given by man to tbe prohibition cause, aud Mrs. Boutell referred specially to tbe training of tbe children, and tbe unanimity of tbe mothers of tbe commnnity in op position to saloons und other schools of vice, which nullify their efforts aud ruin their boys. She referred, also, to tbe habit being indulged in by tbe girls of chew ing cloves or other Bpices, and thus acquiring a very injurious vice, A collection was then asked,while tbe cboir sang, “ Sound tbe Battle Cry.” A beautiful song, solo and chorus, “ As W e’ve Sown, So Shall We Reap,” concluded tbe services, when Rev. Quimby pronounced the benediction. A committee of young ladies attended at tbe door and distributed tracts to every auditor as they departed.
