At Roseburg, in circuit court last
week, up to Thursday, the case
against G. S. Brown, for the mur

last summer, had progressed to the
extent of entering a plea of not
guilty. The grand-jury returned a
bill of murder in the first degree.
Thursday morning Attorney Craw

the motion was being argued. The
man W. F. Beckman, who killed
his wife and her son, Robert Bing,
at Oak creek last September, has
also been indicted for murder in
the first degree.
