Mr. Edwards said the damage done
to the mil! and the lumber which
is lost could not be replaced for
$ 2000 .

possible that he has lent one hun­
dred head.
This department has been offer­
ed the “skeleton" for a new and

entitled “The Silver Cup.” It is a
Christmas story and is a thrilling
narrative about a beautiful nnd

on the Christinas tree and how he

Steve Ileed the Eekley mail car­
rier came down Saturday and re­
ports that be has seen nearly all
the stock raisers ic that direction
who say there has bt-en but little
stock lost as yet. Jack Sears has
pulled his excellent herd through
with no more than the usuul loss
J. W . Caldwell has also had good
luck in saving his and in fact all
of the stockmen as fai as we can
learn have reasons to be glad -
This proves that Coos and Curry
counties are excellent for that
branch of industry. Steve reports
that there are maoy slides along
the trail that iu magnitude eclipse
anything that has ever took place
in that line iu this county.
The
Bald hill near Rowland prairie is
cracked in mai.y. places on the sur­
face and at other places whole
aides of
the
mountains have
slipped down thus changing the
appearance of the country consid­
erably. Eekley had no news from
Salmon raonntain and it is feared
that heavy slides have done much
damage in that vicinity.

people of Eekley should rejoice.
