Lillie, of Portland, is canvassing this county for the sale of maps. He has one of our be loved Oregon 11 1 at is by far the nearest perfect of any we have seen. In looking at it, we find even the little creeks in Coos coun ty clearly and accurately marked out and the Coquille river running direct to sea instead of through Benver slough and < 'oos buy. The price is but £1.50, ami when you come to look at it, y m will agree that it is worth double that in giv ing you a knowledge of Oregon. It is the best thing out for your school children. It will give them a better knowledge of the geogra phy of their state than they can get from all their school books. Be sure and buy one. P. E. Barrett, Waitsburg, YV. T., is advertising for a “good young wife.” Now, Perry, would it not be well to simply advertise for a girl; few men would willingly give up theirs, besides, if it were us, we should prefer to confer this title on the woman of our choice. In this connection we will say that we have local man a Bandolph fish erman — w ho seems to be short in this way. Can nothing l e done for him?
