A n A t r o c io u s M u r d e r . — A gen. tleman, who just visited Orange Court liuusc, Virgiuia, gives the particulars o f an atrocious murder committed in that vicinity, by a clergyman, o f the name ot Herndon. It seems, that during the ubsencc o f his wife from home he was successful, by hellish arts, in effecting the seduction o f a young lady friend, who was temporarily staying in the fam ily, and who lived not far from there, a Mi»s Lumsden. Time passed on until recently, when the results o f her shame were to be made apparent to the world. II c then induced her to leave her friends and proceed to some distant locality, to carry out which design, he professed to aid her. lie told her he would sell a jo k e o f oxen, and with the proceeds, agreed to m» et her in an unfrequented spot, when he would accompany her to some place o f quiet secretion. She seems to have met him at the tryst, but that was the last seen o f her alive. Her prolonged absence aroused sus picion. The rivers were dragged, sti earns searched, as the public became more convinced that there had been b>ul play. A t last the head o f the you n g lady was discovered, separated from the b<*ly, in a deuse, anfrequunted forest. Further search revealed the body piled away under a heap o f logs, the exact spot having been indicated by flocks o f buzzards hovering about it.— Upon examination, it was found that a foul murder had been committed and the victim horribly mutilated after death, showing a human fiendishuesa unparalleled. Facts and evidence were adduced, which unmistakably fastened the guilt upon the above clergyman, Kev. John Herndon, who is now in jail awaiting his trial. A t the time o f bia arrest, it wae difficult to keep him from the vengeance o f the people,— Reading ( l ’a ) Timet. Hi w many thousands o f persons both male and female are there who are suffering out a miserable existence from toe effects o f secret in dulgences, or from virus absorbed into the sys tem. Look at their pallid, emaciated and dis figured faces, and their broken constitutions, disqualifying them for the happiness o f mar riage or the enjoyment o f life. In this horrid situation thousands suffer until death closes the scene. Let parents, guardians and friends- attend to those who are suffering with any of horrible, lile-destroying maladies— see that they are cared for and eured before it be too late. Send them to Dr. Gibbon, a pbjsioian who haa made private diaeaees his especial study for years, and who is oertain to cure the most inveterate oases without mercury or any injurious drugs. It is important to those who are afflicted, or to those who are interested in the welfare o f their friends, to be earefnl o f the uiauy pretended Doctors wh > infest all cities, publishing their skill in curing all diseases in a few days, imposing upon the public by using the names ot eminent physicians from Europe and other places. Be therefore careful and make strict inquiry, or you may fall into the hands o f these charlatans. Syphilis is syphilis the world over; so is small pox, consumption and other diseased, to he contrary o f what quacks may say. SEMINAL WEAKNESS. Seminal weakness is the cogsequence o f self abuse. This solitary vice, or depraved sexual indulgence, is practised by the youth o f both sexes to an almost unlimited extent, producing with unerring certainty the following train o f morbid symtoms, unless combatted by scientific medical measures: sallow countenance, dark spots under the eyes, pain in the head, ringing in the ears, noise like the rustliug of leaves and rattliDg of chariots, uneasiness about the loins, weakness of the limbs, confnsed vision, blunt iuieliect, loss o f confidence, diffidence in ap proaching strangers, a dislike to form new ac quaintances. a disposition ta shun society, loss of memory, hectic flushes, pimples and various eruptions about the face, furred tongue, feted breath, coughs, consumption, night sweats, mouoinania, i nd frequent insanity. I f relief be not obtuined, should apply immediately, either in person or by letter, eud have a cure effected by this new and scientific mode of treatiug this complaint,, which never fails o f effecting a quick and radical cure. Dr. G. will give $100 to any person wbe will prove satisfactorily to him that he was cured by cith er o f the 8an Francisco quacks. Dr. Gibbon is responsible, and will give each patient a written instrument binding himself to effect a radical aud permanent cure or make no charge. Persons at a distance may be cured at home by addressing a letter to Dr. Gibbon, stating case, symptoms, length o f time the disease has continued, and have medieine promptly for*> warded, free from damage or curiosity, to any part of tho country, with full and plain direc tions for use, for ten dollars sent ia a registered etter through Wells, Largo A Co.
