J osephine C ounty D emocratic C onvention .—
The Democratic Central Committee for Josephine
county met at Kerbyville, Feb’y 7th, 1870. Pres"
ent E. N. Tolen, Wm. Chapman, Mr. Gilmore, and
Ih K. Hanna. Absent—John Bolt. It was re­
solved that the Democracy of Josephine County be
requested to meet in mass convention, nt Kerby­
ville, on Saturday, Feb’y 26lh, for the purpose of
selecting delegates to attend the Democratic State
convention, to meet at Albany, Munh 23d, 1870.
A most important election is approaching. Look
well then to your nominations. Veterans be ready
to fall in line, “tis duty calls you now.’’

duties of the Street Commissioner, requiring that
all monies collected for road tax be paid into the
Town Treasury, and to be drawn out on Town
warrants, Ac. The ordinance was read and favor­
ably commented on by all the members present,
but final action on the same was deferred till the
next meeting of the Board. The annual election
for town officers was ordered, and R. S. Dunlap,
J. Roudcbush and Ad. Helms were appointed
judges of the election, nnd Jas. R. Wade and C.
W. Kahler Clerks. The Recorder was ordered to
give legal public notice of said election to be held
ithe first day of March next. The Board adjourned
nil! the evening of 26tn of February.
