Perry Veneering Co., which has operated at Portland for some time has leased the second story of the Jones Shingle Mill, and will proceed at once to install their machinery which has been moved as far as Coquille, and will be run ning inside of a week or ten days. Mr. Perry made a thorough inves tigation of conditions at Coos Bay, Coquille and Bandon, and finally decided that this was the proper place to locate. The chief work of the veneering plant is to make material for fruit and berry boxes and their chief market will be California, although they will supply the local trade as well. The veneering works wil use mostly spruce, of which there is almost an inexhaustible supply around Bandon and in the Coquille valley. The company already have large contracts to fill and have others un der consideration, sufficient to keep them running at full capacity for some time to come, end the plant will in all probability run both day and night. Mr. Perry, the general manager, comes highly recommended as thoroughly understanding the busi ness, and the successful operation of the plant in Portland would certainly bear out that fact. He has already moved his family to Bandon and they will become permanent ies- idents of our city. The Veneer plant will employ about ten or twelve men at the start and as the business increases more men will be added. For the present the only work that will be done here will be to prepare material for making into boxes and baskets, but it is probable that in the near future the entire finished pro duct will be turned out in the local any dealings with them got cleaned During the last week of their factory. stay here, persons who brought Cooa Stan Leave Saturday garments to their establishment were spared the task of carrying them for Curry home, as the proprietors packed everything in their trunks and bade farewell to Bandon a week ago The “Coos Stars,” the crack base ball team of Coos will leave last Saturday.
