Dan Anderson, after spending the

Mr. Neumann, Sr., and wife
moved up to Bandon List week,
where they have purchased a house
in town, and have invested in sev
eral town lots. His son Otto and
family will also locate in Bandon
soon.
It is stated that the new steamer
Baudon may run permanently be
tween San Francisco and Yaquina
bay, carrying lumber on a charter
lately secured.
The Bandon was
only recently launched and fitted for
the Coquille trade, being modeled
with especial adaptuess to the bar
of this stream. Her commander is
('apt. J. P. Jensen who for a long
time was on the bridge of the Eliza
beth, running into the river.

An automobile line to carry pas
sengers between Florence ami Marsh-

men. A seven-passenger Buick will

other and larger cars will be placed
on the run.
John Unican and family, who for
some weeks have been visiting in
Smith River, Cal., returned to Port
Orford last Friday, having fallen in
love with Smith River Valley, which
is one of the finest valleys facing the
Pacific ocean anywhere. Miss Silvia
Clarno returned with them, having
spent a couple of months visiting
w ith her father at Pistol River.
Mayor M. <>. Stemmier last week
registered in with probably the big
gest pair of elk horns of the season;
anyway he is waiting to be shown a

as large as a horse. The horns had
eleven prongs on one side and nine
on the other. Mr. Stemmier suc

Coquille Notes.
From the Sentinel.
Wm. McKay, foreman of Price’s
shipbuilding operations at Bandon,
was in town Sunday evening going
to Portland on a business trip. The
plant, which was destroyed by fire
last summer, is nearly in shape for
business in its new location.
The new freight boat built by Ed

Orford, and which is to ply between
Coos Bay, Bandon and Port Orford,
was launched from the yard above
Coquille yesterday at noon. She is
a trim and substantial craft, supplied
with strong machinery.
We learn from the proceedings of
the Methodist conference held in
Portland that Rev. W S. Gordon
has been assigned to the Coquille-

Also we note that Rev. G. W. Ellis,
