HAALAND - RASMUSSEN
Bandon Business Man l akes
Unto Himself a Life
Companion.
Last \V< duesday evening, promptly
at eight o’clock ttie marriage of Miss
E ise Haalftrid and Chris Rasmussen
was duly eolemuized at their new
residence on the Bandon Bluff. Their
beautiful new home was elaborately
decorated with Oregon grape ami
ferus, harmonizing with the occasion.
The bride, who is a uiece of Mrs. J.
Johnson, is not very well known in
Bandon, having recently arrived from
Norwich, Conn., her old home wbete
she was very popular. The groom is
one of our leading business uieu and
has a host of friends. He has liv«d
here a number of years and is very
well kuowu.
The wedding ceremony was per
formed by Rev. \\ m, Horsfall of the
Episcopal church of Bandon. But a
few of the immediate friends and rel
atives were present at Ibe ceremony.
The bride was beautifully dressed lli
white and carried native Howers. The
groom wore conventional black, im
mediately after the ceremony a daiuty
supper was served during which they
were agreeably surprised by a burst
of music from the Bandon Concert
B ind, who had gathered on the lawn
to serenade the newly married couple.
After a number of selections they en
tered the house where they were
served with refreshments. All ex
tended their heartiest congratulations
to the young couple, shortly after
ward taking their leave.
Mr. and Mrs. Rasmussen will be at
borne to their many friends in a short
time. There was a large number of
beautiful presents from numerous
friends and relatives. We wish to
join their many friends in wishing
them a happy and prosperous future.

The steamer Roanoke, which was
tbe first to reach tbe Corona when the
latter was wrecked at the entrance
to Eureka Harbor yesterday, was in
port, Saturday, and Captain Dunham
issued a statement in which be criti

the harbor is buoyed, and blames the
United States Lighthouse Board for
the wreck. There have been four
steamers wrecked on tbe Humboldt
reef during the year the Newsboy,

Captain Dunham declares that al)

Tbe Corona is a total wreck. All
the passengers and crew got Io laud
