Last week tbe mercury played around in tbe neighborhood of the sixties in thia section; in Minsouri it climed up to 114 degrees, and in New Jersey snow fell during a storm. Oregon ought to receive a boom in emigration. BandouiauB sometimes complain of the Northwest winds, hilt while these winds are sometimes rather chilly it is easy to overcome their disagreeable features by extra clothing when out side, or a comfortable blaze while indoors, but in case of excessiv heat it is not convenient to have an ice house near by, or to transport a suffi cient supply of that article around with you to keep tbe atmosphere ‘ comfortable. No doubt citizens of Missouri would like to have ex changed climate with us last Friday although tbe temperature was cool ' hero on that occasion. Here are ' samples of Missouri woatber: Al De ' «oto, 114; Wellsville, 113; St Joseph, ' 112; Paris 112; Boonville 112; Colum bia, 111; Chillicothe, J10; Mexico, 107; ’ Butler, 108; Dixon, 108; Springfiold, ' 103; St. Louis, 101.
