Tribal Elder and former Tribal Historian David G. Lewis autographs a copy
of his book “Tribal Histories of the Willamette Valley” for Tribal Council
Secretary Michael Cherry during his author visit at the Tribal gym on
Thursday, Feb. 22. Approximately 50 people attended the event that was
hosted by the Grand Ronde Tribal Library. It included a book raffl e and
take-home meal. The book was released last November and it takes a
deep dive into the stories of the numerous Tribes that eventually ended
up at the Grand Ronde Indian Reservation in the mid-1850s.
