Subject involved in a two-hour standoff with law enforcement personnel. Subject was taken into custody and transported to the Yamhill County Jail after exiting from the residence. • Assist outside agency in the area of Bridge and Main streets in Sher- idan. • Trespass in the day use area. Subject was warned for criminal trespass. • Reported disturbance in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Tuesday, Aug. 29 • Traffic stop in the area of milepost 23 on Salmon River Highway in- volving suspicious activity by the occupants of the vehicle. Information was reported to the subjects’ parole and probation officers. Wednesday, Aug. 30 • Nothing to report. Thursday, Aug. 31 • Physical altercation in the 26000 block of Salmon River Highway. Two subjects were cited for disorderly conduct and released. Friday, Sept. 1 • Suspicious vehicle in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Vehicle was removed by the owner. • Attempted burglary/criminal mischief reported in the 9600 block of Tilixam Circle. • Suspicious activity in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. • Physical altercation in the 48000 block of Blacktail Drive. Subjects were warned about disorderly conduct. • Assist outside agency with a male subject who was taken into custody of DUII and transported to the Grand Ronde Tribal Police Department. • Physical altercation in the 25000 block of Coyote Court. Male subject was taken into custody for violating conditions of his probation by consuming alcohol. The subject was transported to Polk County Jail. • Domestic disturbance in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. Saturday, Sept. 2 • Driving complaint in the area of milepost 23 on Salmon River Highway. • Domestic disturbance in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. • Reported theft in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. • Assist outside agency in the area of Andy Riggs Road. Sunday, Sept. 3 • Assist outside agency with subjects reported to be shooting in the 38000 block of Fort Hill Road and the projectiles were striking the roof of a residence. Three subjects were contacted and warned about the use of their firearms in an unsafe manner. • Assist outside agency with a crash in the area of milepost 19 on Salmon River Road. • Assist outside agency with a crash in the area of milepost 24 on Salmon River Highway. Monday, Sept. 4 • Domestic disturbance in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway. • Driving complaint in the area of Grand Ronde and Tyee roads. Tuesday, Sept. 5 • Assist outside agency with a drug evaluation completed on a female subject at the Grand Ronde Tribal Police Department after the subject was involved in a crash on Highway 22 near milepost 1. • Theft in the 27000 block of Salmon River Highway on Sept. 3. Male suspect was located in Salem and taken into custody and transported to Polk County Jail. • Assist outside agency with a trespass issue in the 22000 block of Southwest Grand Ronde Road. Rod McAllister The Grand Ronde Tribal Police Department participated in a High Vis- ibility Enforcement grant during the weekend of Aug. 18-22, which saw the annual Contest Powwow and total solar eclipse occur in the Grand Ronde area. The grant was sponsored by Oregon Impact, the state Department of Transportation and the National Highway Transportation Safety Admin- istration. The Tribal Police Department worked 84 hours of overtime during the weekend, focusing on stopping impaired drivers and careless, reckless and aggressive driving habits. Sgt. Rod McAllister said the department issued 40 citations for speeding violations, three citations for subjects who were operating a motor vehicle while their driving privileges were suspended, one citation for not using a seat belt and one citation for minor in possession of alcohol. In addition, one person was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance and another person was arrested for failure to carry or present a license. Seventy-four warnings were issued for various traffic-related violations, McAllister said. Also during the weekend, Tribal police assisted with two pursuits. The first one involved a motorcyclist traveling westbound on Salmon River Highway toward Grand Ronde. Because the motorcyclist was traveling at more than 100 mph, the pursuit was discontinued. The second pursuit involved a vehicle from Lincoln City. Tribal police disabled the vehicle after placing stop sticks in the area of milepost 20 on Salmon River Highway. The driver was taken into custody after his vehicle came to a stop about two miles later.
