Letters Dear Smoke Signals: On April 1, we had a ceremony at the Tribal Cemetery for my older broth- er Frank E. Kowing Jr. Our family would like to thank Tyson Mercier and Gregg Leno for their help in coordinating the interment of brother Frank. They worked with Joel Boyce from Adamson’s Mortuary in Sheridan to place the vault urn and memorial stone at my brother’s gravesite. The Tribal Veterans Honor Guard honored my brother’s service to his country, which included two years in the Vietnam War zone while on board the USS Mars AFS-1, a combat stores ship. Our family thanks them from the bottom of our hearts. A special thanks to military chaplain Bud Abbott and to Steve Bobb Sr. for putting the service together. A special thanks to Carol Nelson, Marietta Leith and all those who helped with the celebration of life meal at the Tribal Community Center. If I have forgotten anyone, please be assured that your help was dearly appreciated. And, of course, all of this was possible because of the dedicated employees of our Tribe who helped with all aspects of my brother Frank’s services and interment. Thanks to our Member Benefits Department for handling all the expenses related to Frank’s passing. Thanks to our Tribal Council for their leadership and wisdom. Corrections — An article in the April 1 edition of Smoke Signals mis- stated the location of St. Francis Catholic High School. The school was located in Eugene. In addition, the name of a Marine Corps veteran being added to the West Valley Veterans Memorial on Monday, May 31, was incorrectly reported in the May 1 edition. The corrected name appears in this edition. Smoke Signals regrets the errors. Tribal General Priorities Council meeting meeting 11 11 a.m. June 5 4 a.m. Sunday, Sunday, Feb.
