The Placement Test is one of the first steps to beginning college classes. Call 503-879-2282 to sign up for your placement test. Attention full- time students All full-time students must submit verification that they have applied to a scholarship outside the Tribe before funding will be released for the term/semester. Verification can include a scholarship award or denial letter, e-mail verification that an application was submitted, a copy of the applica- tion or the financial aid award letter that lists an outside scholarship. This course will also introduce students to many cultures of the Northwest. Completion of first- year Chinuk Wawa courses fulfills the Oregon University System’s requirements for admission to state universities. Students will learn more Chinuk Wawa words and structure as well as improve their communicative ability through daily reading, writing, speaking and listening. Content will focus on the culture and history of Grand Ronde peoples in addition to personal conversation and storytelling. Completion of second-year Chinuk Wawa courses fulfills the Oregon University System’s language requirement for graduation. Instructors: TBA. And look for u6 on Facebook! “Back to School” Library Resource Extraordinaire: Learning Express is an online-learning platform that provides practice tests, tutorials and eBooks to help school-age students (elementary, middle and high school levels) and adult learners with basic skills mastery, GED, college preparation, occupational certification tests, computer basics and popular software video tutorials. 2016-17 Oregon Battle of the Books: Titles will be available in the Tribal Library beginning the first week of October. Thirty-three new titles will be added to the collection and ready for check out. Movie Time at Noon: Held on the first Saturday of the month: • Oct. 1: “The Jungle Book” • Nov. 5: “Hotel Transylvania” • Dec. 3: “Finding Dory” Family Game Night: Held from 5 to 7 p.m. the last Wednesday of the month – Sept. 28, Oct. 26, Nov. 30 and Dec. 28. Game Night features board games, card games, Xbox games and refreshments. We will leave Grand Ronde @ 9:00am and return at 4:00pm What: We will be visiting OCCC for an inside look at their Aquarium Science Program. Afterwards, we’ll visit OSU Hatfield Marine Science Center for a fun hands on activity with marine wildlife. Lunch will be provided.
