The next meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Food Bank, 9675 Grand Ronde Road. “If you provide any types of services to families in our community, please consider attending,” Ambrose said. “We are looking for meal site calendars, food box sites, clothes closets, showers and laundry service. We are asking churches, church groups, departments and support groups to share with us. We are also collecting items for homeless families in our area, items for camping, bed in a bag, reusable water jugs, silverware, plates, etc.” There also will be a collection day at the Food Bank from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, seeking donations of Halloween costumes, towels, warm clothing, shoes and bedding items. Tribe receives $101,969 Justice grant The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde received a $101,969 community policing grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, it was announced on Monday, Sept. 21. The grant will be used to purchase equipment, including a base radio for the new Grand Ronde Police Station. The award was part of 206 awards totaling more than $97 million awarded to Native Tribes and Alaska Native villages by the Justice Department. “These funds will make a significant impact on enhancing com- munity safety and prevention programs throughout Oregon,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Billy J.
