Setting: Winter, a cold and icy Christmas break in a ramshackle manor house on a hill that looks as if it had been cobbled together from discarded pieces of a dozen mismatched mansions collected from a dozen different cities. The Story: The Greenglass House, also known as the smuggler’s inn, is a mysterious old four-story manor overlooking an inlet of har- bors. It is also the home of 12-year-old Milo, the innkeeper’s adopted son and his family. One night Milo and his mother are settled in, ready to spend their winter vacation relaxing when to their surprise they hear the guest doorbell ring. One after another of very unusual guests begin to arrive until soon the empty inn is full. Soon the strangers start telling stories of how they are connected to the old house (and possibly each other), but when objects start to go missing, Milo and Meddy, the cook’s daughter, take it upon themselves to investigate and soon their quest for the truth turns into an intriguing mystery. Milo and Meddy create characters for themselves and together they collect clues and explore the mysterious inn determined to find the truth about the guests, their stories and the Greenglass House. Donations: Our thanks to the CTGR Family Services Program and to Josh Henry for their contributions to the library collection this reporting period. We appreciate the generosity of our friends of the library. Reminder: Donated items must be clean and in good condition. Inter-Library loan services: The Tribal Library partners with Oregon State Library to offer “library to library” inter-library loan services. By completing the inter-library loan form, library patrons may request items from the Oregon State Library collection. Items will be couriered to and from the Tribal Library. OSL lending policies apply for return of items.
