Tribal Food Summit to be held in Portland A Tribal Food Summit will be held Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 8-9, to bring together Native local food gatherers, producers, manufacturers and growers. The summit will be held at the Doubletree Hotel, Lloyd Center, 1000 N.E. Multnomah St. The educational event is dedicated to connecting emerging youth leaders with Tribal Elders. There will be a number of keynote speak ers who will discuss the history of Native foods, legal issues and options, and future solutions, including next steps toward realizing the summit's motto of "Protect, Respect, Restore." St. Michael's offers weekly brunch St. Michael's Catholic Church offers an open house brunch every Sunday following Mass. The brunch is free to the community. The land was originally part of the Coast Indian Reservation and then later became part of the Alsea Reservation. The land was terminated from the reservation and closed to Native Americans after 1875. It was never part of the Siletz Reservation.
