2 Smoke Signals AUGUST 15, 2013 NOTICE Monthly Tribal Council Wednesday Meetings DATE TIME Wednesday, Aug. 28 , 5 p.m. Pleane note that then time and date are aubject to change if needed. General Council meeting Sunday, Sept. 8 11 a.m. Tribal Community Center Dear Smoke Signals: I'm glad the Tribe in ho cost conscious as to mail Smoke Signals at the low rate. However, as of today, the last issue I have received is July 1. Since I have to mail in my ballot by Sept. 7 and I don't even know what issue the candidate statements are in, how can I cast an intelligent, thoughtful ballot? A Smort" Signals issue of such importance should be mailed first class so members can evaluate the statements in time to vote. I checked the Web site, but there was nothing about candidates. Could someone please look into making this exception to fiscal policy? Judith Pettibone Roll 717 (Editor's note: The video of the July 31 Candidates Forum can be found on the Tribal Web site, www.grandronde.org, under the "Video" section. Also, the candidate statements were mailed out as an issue of Tilixam Wawa and should arrive separately from regular Smoke Signals deliveries. The Tilixam Wawa was mailed out at the standard rate.)
