SUMMER PROGRAMS: This year's theme is "Dig Into Reading." Programs include: Reading Incentive Program: Registration is closed. We have 60 youth signed up for the program and wish all "happy reading." This program ends on July 31. The Library Book Buck Store will open on July 15 for youth to spend their "book bucks." Activity Stations: Theme-related activities and displays will be set up in the library in the children's areas June 17-31. The activ ity themes will change each week of the six-week program and will feature: 1. Animals the Dig; 2. Root Gardens; 3. Archaeology for Kids; 4. Fossil Finds; 5. Rock On; 6. And Tracing our Roots. Activity Sessions: Sessions will be held on Saturday, July 13, from noon to 2 p.m. July 13: "Digging for Treasure"; All ages welcome (12 and under must have adult supervision). Library Cultural Exhibit: Land & Culture Department staff members Julie Brown and Veronica Montano assembled a collec tion of artifacts and cultural items that are on display in the Tribal Library through August. The exhibit items complement the Summer Program theme, "Dig Into Reading." Donations: We appreciate the following contributors to the library collection during this reporting period: Our thanks to Bob Reinhardt, Andrew Hernandez, Brian Glass and Donna Johnson. Donated items have been cataloged and are shelved for circulation. They are great additions to the collection. REMINDER: Donations must be clean; no cassettes, VHS or mass-produced paperback books please. REMINDER: The Tribal Library is a CCRLS Circulation Site: Use your Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Services library card to perform electronic holds on resources in the 18 partner libraries and items will be couriered here for check out and can be checked back in here, too.
