The proposed amendments were given a first reading at the Jan. 16, 2013, Tribal Council meeting. The purpose of the amendments is to make technical corrections to various provisions of the Ordinance and to make necessary substan tive changes to the Ordinance to set forth a new process for filing and handling complaints of wrongful conduct by Tribal Officials. The substantive changes replace Section (f) in its entirety. The proposed amended Section (f) includes a mediation process and a hearing in Tribal Court if mediation is unsuccessful. The Tribal Council believes amendment of this Ordinance will assist the Tribe in continuing to provide efficient governance of the conduct of Tribal Officials. The Tribal Council invites comment on the proposed amendments to the Tribal Ethical Standards Ordinance.
