2006 The Tribe was in the process of building a new fish weir
in Agency Creek. Tribal Engineer Eric Scott was working with Gelco
Construction, the subcontractor responsible for pouring the concrete
footing for the fish weir, which was designed to withstand the chal
lenges of high water and debris flowing down the creek.
2001 An auction for the West Valley Veterans' Memorial
raised awareness of the ongoing fundraising effort and $5,500 for
the memorial. Tribal Elder Kathryn Harrison also donated $1,000
more to the effort, bringing the evening's total take to $6,500. With
money brought in by the auction, the campaign had collected almost
$70,000 of the $300,000 needed for construction.
1996 Spirit Mountain Casino donated two Marksman LTI 2020
Lasers to Oregon State Police responsible for monitoring state High
way 18 traffic. The hardware was the casino's latest contribution to
traffic safety, which included the voluntary construction of a $2.5
million interchange at the entrance to the gaming facility.
1991 The proposed Tribal budget for 1992 totaled $9.1 mil
lion. Most of the Tribe's revenue was coming from timber sales and
federal and state grants. ' . . ,
1986 The Tribe was advertising for a person to handle hunting
and fishing issues, as well as publish the monthly Tribal newsletter.
The full-time job paid $15,000 a year. , '
